Corporate Regulation and Taxation Committee

The Corporate Regulation and Taxation Committee assesses the impact of existing or proposed taxation and corporate regulation on the operations of Members and develops policy positions to assist in the advocacy for positive change.

Some key issues the committee focus on are:

  • The proposed model for sustainability and social responsibility reporting for listed Australian companies

  • The impact of GST and capital gains tax on farm-in/farm-out mining and exploration arrangements

  • Fuel tax credit reforms

  • Promotion of Flow-Through-Shares to the current Federal Government

  • The ‘Same Business Test’ and carry forward tax losses

The Committee was also involved in the development of a Resources Exploration Acceleration Plan (REAP) – a package of exploration incentives to address Western Australia’s declining share of mineral exploration investment.
