Environment & Water Policy Committee

The Environment and Water Policy Committee advises Council on matters relating to environment and water resources and assists AMEC’s members by providing effective representations to Governments on those issues.The Committee is involved in a wide range of issues, including participating in a review of the Western Australian environmental impact assessment process, development of a code of conduct for mineral exploration, development of the Western Australian Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and strategic review of banded iron formations. The Committee continues to take an active interest in an area of growing importance to miners and explorers; the purchase of pastoral leases by the Western Australian Government for conversion to parks and reserves.
