The Association of Mining and Exploration Companies Inc. (AMEC) is the peak industry body for junior and mid-size mineral exploration and mining companies within Australia.AMEC is the voice and most successful advocate for mineral exploration within Australia.  Its strategic objective is to promote mineral exploration and mining in Australia in a commercially, politically, socially and environmentally responsible manner.

Due to the size and breadth of its membership, AMEC is seen by governments and stakeholders as credible and unlikely to be driven by the vested interests of large companies paying large subscriptions.  This enables AMEC to retain strong relationships with all sides of politics at the highest level and provide members with a lobbying and advocacy power they could not otherwise generate.
