Warren Pearce
Chief Executive Officer
× Warren is an experienced leader with a proven record of achievement working in both the public and private sectors. He has held a number of senior advocacy positions including at the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA, the WA Local Government Association, and most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Local Government Professionals WA. Before beginning his career in advocacy, he served as a Senior Adviser in the Gallop and Carpenter WA Governments.

× Neil has over ten years’ experience working in State government ministerial offices, international development and industry associations. Neil spent four years as a senior adviser in the WA Premier’s office, followed by two years with the Minister for Mines and Petroleum as the principal policy adviser. Prior to joining AMEC, Neil lived in Vienna, Austria, leading the corporate communications department of an international development consultancy. Neil holds a Masters in Economics.

Denyse McClements
Manager – National Events
× Denyse is responsible for organising all AMEC events across Australia. She has expertise in the coordination and management of all types of events from conference and seminars to golf days and dinners. Denyse has a background in managing projects with a strong focus on establishing and maintaining business relationships with clients, members and key stakeholders. She worked for almost 20 years in the IT industry before making the move to Event Management. Denyse has a Bachelor of Business from the Western Australia Institute of Technology (now Curtin University of Technology).

Kate Dickson
Manager – Queensland
× With a strong mining and business background, Kate brings a wealth of experience and energy to AMEC. With an eye on the future and a strong understanding of the resource sector’s past, Kate works with stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for AMEC members and the resources industry in Queensland. In the role of Queensland Manager, Kate will make sure the Queensland membership’s voice is heard loud and clear, and continue AMEC’s excellent tradition of stakeholder engagement and advocacy.

Doug Bowie
Manager – Membership & Sponsorship (WA, NT & SA)
× Doug Bowie come to AMEC with 30+ years of involvement within the resources industry in a range of different roles. A geologist with experience in mining, exploring for, and developing Nickel, Gold, and Tantalum deposits, Doug has a working knowledge of how the industry works. Doug has also previously held roles in Government and mining tech as well as a long career in resources events.

Ruth MacIntyre
Manager – Media & Communications
× Ruth brings a broad background with over 10 years’ experience in PR, communications, Government and the NGO sector. Prior to joining AMEC, Ruth was the Principal Advisor for one of New Zealand’s largest NGOs. A qualified PR and communications professional with a wide-ranging academic background, Ruth is also experienced in partnership brokering, and crisis management. Ruth holds post-grad qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Planning, PR and Communications.

Anne Marie Doig
Executive Assistant & Office Manager
× Anne Marie is responsible for the overall management of the AMEC office and finances and for providing executive assistance to the CEO. She has been in this role for 10 years, ensuring organisational strength and stability. In addition, Anne Marie coordinates the board papers for the Executive Council and assists the team in most facets of the organisation from membership, communications, IT and events. Prior to joining AMEC, Anne Marie has worked in the forestry sector, education and mining.

Lucy McClean
Manager – New South Wales, Victoria & Tasmania
× Lucy is a passionate advocate for the minerals industry. Lucy has had wide-ranging experience in the minerals industry, first starting in the industry over 20 years ago. She has worked in environment, community and tenure management for exploration companies as well as extensive experience in industry advocacy. Lucy is a strong supporter of women in the industry and mental health, having recently completed the Kokoda Trek with Mates in Mining. Lucy holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and has completed postgraduate qualifications in Business.


Samantha Panickar
Policy and Research Officer
×Samantha joins AMEC after years of
public sector experience in both
Australia and the UK. Whilst
completing a Bachelor of
Commerce and Master of
International Relations, Samantha
undertook a wide range of
analytical and project roles in time
pressured environments. She has
been recognised for applying high-
quality research to develop policies
and achieve strategic and
operational objectives for each department she has worked for.
Samantha’s current focus is
ensuring the views, comments and
concerns of AMEC members are
expressed through proactive
stakeholder engagement and
advocacy.
